We are sure many of you are wondering what is happening at the centre in Colombia with this Covid-19 Pandemic outbreak. As the situation surrounding COVID-19 continues to evolve in BC and around the world, we know it has many feeling anxious and uncertain. We all need to continue to do our part and most notably, that means praying and adhering to social distancing requirements. With that said, we wanted to update you with what decisions have been made at Seeds of Love and Hope.
The centre has been closed to all activities. Because of this, there has been concern for the children and their families specifically when it comes to food. Because these families live in extreme poverty, the food they receive from the centre is sometimes the only food they receive for the day.
This is also concerning to the staff at the centre as well; they love these families and it breaks their hearts to see them in this situation. Therefore, we have set up services that deliver food to the centre once a week. The staff sort it and make up care packages for each family. They then hand delivers the packages of food to each family all the while keeping safe distance and being very cautious as to not expose themselves, or the families, to the danger of this virus.
We ask that you please pray for the families in Medellin, Colombia as well as for the safety of our staff and all involved during this difficult time. We hope and pray that this will soon pass and we can get back to regular ministry at Seeds of Love and Hope.
In His love,
