Psychology

  • This program will promote comprehensive care for youth, providing them with adequate tools to manage their emotions and encouraging regular physical exercise to maintain good physical and mental health.

The program will promote effective management of stress and anxiety through regular physical exercise and improve the mental and emotional health of young people through the practice of physical exercise. It will provide a safe and supportive space for young people to share and process their emotions and facilitate the development of social and communication skills through group activities related to physical exercise and emotional well-being. Finally, it will reduce the risk of developing mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety, through the combination of physical exercise and emotional well-being.

This program is for those aged 12-17.

  • This program will provide youth with the necessary tools to design their own life plan by establishing clear objectives, charting a route to follow, and developing the skills and competencies necessary to achieve them.

It will promote reflective and critical thinking about one's own life and the impact of decisions on one's life project.  It will encourage self-reflection to adapt and adjust to the life project as circumstances change and goals evolve and identify and overcome possible obstacles and challenges that may arise during the process of building the life project.

Having a life project allows you to have a global vision of life because it covers the different areas of it (spiritual, emotional, cognitive); not only do you identify and establish goals and objectives, but you do it from your own needs and motivations, and from one's own reality or personal situation.  Through the program, we seek to promote self-knowledge, critical thinking, and reflection on personal values and principles to make decisions according to one's interests and needs.

This program will have two age groups:  13-16 & 17-25

  • The Listening Zone program will support the community in generating a relational space where services, welcoming actions, empathy, and active listening are established directly or indirectly. Listen actively and assertively to the community of the center as they require it, thus providing them with significant support. We will also provide resolution tools, which they face in their different roles that are affected physically or emotionally, reflecting on their quality of life.  The program will also promote spaces for people to see the organization's interdisciplinary vision and seek help or support from different areas and services at SOLAHIS

This program is for all of the families in the community!

  • Our outings promote good psychosocial development of young people between 17 and 25 years old. It generates learning spaces where creativity and culture are encouraged, allowing them to grow in a comprehensive way, contributes to the good emotional and psychosocial development of young people, and promotes new experiences that expand your comprehensive knowledge in a kinesthetic way. Experiential workshops contribute to the personal and social development of young people and families, favour the establishment of relationships (links), and promote comprehensive health and the value of culture.

We run this program every 2-3 months.

  • We provide individual counselling in our mental health programs to those within our centre on an as-needed basis.

  • We provide group therapy as needed, per topics and age groups in the sessions.

Chaplin

  • This program is to teach the word of God and help people have a correct approach to the scriptures. By having a correct approach, a good interpretation and understanding of it is achieved. Each class/topic is around ten classes. The first topic is “Life Centered on the Gospel,” then “Pentateuch,” then “Synoptic Gospels.”

  • This offers a time to share and teach topics important to both groups. Each group meets once every two months, with their gender.  The goal is to gather, share, and teaching important topics relevant to each group.  We want to provide healthy spaces for each community to gather and learn, and this is one of the ways we do it!

  • Youth groups provide a space for young people to share, have fun, and learn from our Lord Jesus. The program provides a safe space, a time to share and learn together, and most importantly, they get to know Jesus. Providing this space allows us to share the gospel with them because young people need spaces where they can share and spend pleasant time together. In addition, it allows us to keep them away from the dangers and threats to which they are exposed on the streets.

The program meetings are on Saturdays at 4 pm. We try to have different activities, which can range from going out to visiting other youth groups, watching a movie together, having a discussion on relevant topics, or reflective workshops; all of the above are always accompanied by a message of the gospel of Christ.

  • These classes provide valuable time with children and adolescents to learn and share. We understand that children and adults are very important in the corporation, and their growth in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus is vital. On the last Friday of each month, we will meet in twice, the first with children ages 3-8, then with those ages 9-12. For these activities, we will share Bible stories. The first five will be stories from the Old Testament, and the other five will be stories of encounters and miracles of Jesus.

  • Couple groups provide a time to share and also receive communication that helps the couples put God at the center of their relationship. Our goal is that couples live their relationship in the light of the bible scriptures and can resolve the difficulties that come to them by considering the advice that God leaves us in his word and that couples raise their children according to biblical principles. Our goal with this program is to help form healthy families and, therefore, healthy societies.

  • Family support is (shepherding) to the community. We support the sick, families who are going through different difficulties or special events, and support diverse processes through family counselling. We think it is extremely important that the community feels supported and shepherded and that they feel this in the important moments they experience, whether sad or happy.  This way, they will know that at the center, they not only have material help but also spiritual help.  We set aside one day each week to visit families either at hospitals or their homes.

  • We involve the community in these times of fasting and prayer and let the community participate in these spiritual practices. It provides time for the community to pray with the staff, and it is very important for the community to know that this is a way they can offer support. Some help by coming to the center or giving financially; others help by praying for the center. This community can do it by praying with us. This also helps the community see the issues and challenges we, as SOLAHIS, face every day and can support us through that recognition.

  • We call the entire community to celebrate the worship of God, celebrate different milestones through Christian services, sing and pray together to God, and listen to the word of God.

  • We support and advise families who come to the family sessions to obtain tools to treat their problematic situations at the family, couple and individual levels. Psychotherapy processes are framed in helping the processing of traumatic events (abandonment, mistreatment, abuse, rape, etc.), emotional management, and resolution of unfinished business with fathers, mothers, caregivers, etc, and self-conflicts (self-hatred, self-harming behaviours, guilt, shame, low self-esteem).  In family therapy, it is planned to find triangular relationships, assigned and self-assigned roles, over-involved behaviours in the mother's and children's families, abusive communication and weak bonding relationships.

In couples, the aim is to support the attachment styles that they have brought to the relationship, the events that have occurred in their lives making the relationship difficult, in order to consolidate themselves in a safe place for each other.

Workshops according to the need in different areas of prevention (abuse, depression, suicide and psychoactive substance use), and family advice on parenting guidelines and humanized parenting are offered.

  • As needed through family therapy.

  • Working with the whole family unit, couple, parents and one-on-ones as needed.

Social Work

  • This program provides a space for families in the pre-sponsorship program to understand and adhere to SOLAHIS DNA. It generates a space in which families can understand the principle, mission, vision and corporate values while encouraging families to participate and contribute to SOLAHIS. We encourage participatory workshops that are held weekly at our centre for this program.

    Some proposed topics:

    • Institutional principle: the Word of God

    • Mission

    • Vision

    • Institutional values

    • Solahis Culture (what we expect from families)

  • This pre-sponsorship program builds a close bond between new families who enter the institution while they receive relevant training in search of their mental, emotional, educational, material and spiritual well-being. A select group among the registered families are those that can continue in the process. We conduct home visits to new families, identify vulnerability, and support the process of selected families throughout the year. It is necessary for the institution to link new families in order to continue fulfilling our mission.

    Selection Process:

    • Select families based on registrations and available places for entry to the program.

    • Conduct home visits to pre-selected families.

    • Support training process, workshops and similar.

    • Monitor adherence to corporate values, mission, and institutional vision.

  • This program promotes meeting and cohesion spaces in which various topics are socialized according to the needs of the community while seeking to strengthen their relationships with each other. We build a space where families take ownership of their needs and empower them to seek the support they need. We also provide support and training on issues according to the needs of the community. This program generates a link that makes it possible to direct families to the different areas of the center to access other services.

It is necessary to promote the construction of the community-organization bond and promote the well-being of the community from the knowledge of their rights. Therefore, it is necessary to promote spaces for meetings and cohesion in which various topics are socialized in accordance with the needs of the community. Furthermore, having spaces for family participation makes it possible to generate a link not only within them but also in relation to the institution while building collective knowledge.

For it is in giving that we receive.
